Facade

Warren Main Street program recently distributed checks to local businesses which qualified to have half of the cost of their facades reimbursed through a grant from the Pennsylvania Downtown Center. The grants were facilitated by the Warren Main Street Program and its Design Committee that new board president Julia Tarr said focuses on creating an "inviting environment for shoppers, workers and visitors." On Wednesday, Tarr presented a check for reimbursement to Judy Mullen of Gaughn's Drug Store on Pennsylvania Avenue in Warren. The reimbursement covered half of the total cost of the facade improvement. Mullen said the facade was at least 30 years old. "I think it's great. It really helps out new business owners," she said. Other facade grant recipients include The Tybout House of Handcrafts, Warren Pet Shop, and McKissock Education.
